The Sing-Off premiere is this Monday, September 19. This show has interested me since acappella has always been a love of echo. Stay tuned, there will definitely be comments as the season progresses.

Okay, I wasn’t sure if I was going to comment on the show or not, but I have to. As it is with American Idol, SONG SELECTION IS KEY. I think Pitch Slapped could have been a descent group, but song selection killed them.

To the Wiffenpoofs, you didn’t invent a cappella music. You say 100 years. Woohoo. The church has had it going a while longer than that. The polyphony of Christian a cappella music began to develop in Europe around the late 15th century. Good harmony, bad history.

Okay, now to finish. I may append this later.

I had an interesting request via FaceBook for the lyrics to the rap section of Go Tell It. I hadn’t thought about it so I listened to it and typed it out. It’s sooo right and sometimes we forget. So, here it is for everyone.

Yo the Word became flesh, God’s delivered us His best
and it should be our number one priority to spend the major and minor majority
of our time just spreading the news about the One who died for me and you.
From late at night ’till early in the morn spread the word our Savior is born.

So I was going through and cleaning out a lot of files and reorganizing and found this audio file. I thought, how about making it a ringtone for the iPhone and giving it away. So, here it is. Enjoy!! Download

So there was some Facebook chatter the other day about getting everyone together to sing and gang out. So what’s everyone elses opinion about that? Good idea? Bad? Hey. So we’re making some modifications to the echo website to get everything switched to WordPress. So far so good and this post is actually being made from my iPhone.
